THE POWER OF THE CYPHER: FLOW & LET GO

Toni Blackman is an award-winning MC, poet, and cultural leader, known for pioneering Hip Hop theater, education, and diplomacy. As the U.S. State Department’s first Hip Hop Cultural Ambassador, she’s performed and led workshops in 50+ countries. Founder of Freestyle Union and Rhyme Like a Girl, Toni’s work centers the transformative power of the Cypher. An Echoing Green and Open Society Fellow, her performances span Arena Stage, the Kennedy Center, and international festivals. She’s the rap coach for Disney+’s The Crossover, a published author, and creator of the docu-series A Woman’s Place is in the Cypher with new music releasing soon along with the audiobook, Wisdom of the Cypher. Toni lives between New York, Senegal and Ghana.

Morris began his dance journey in NYC as a two time recipient of the Judith De Jean Memorial Scholarship Award at the New Dance Group Studios. He has since performed with Chuck Davis, Charles Moore, Pearl Primus, Desi Arnaz, Eartha Kitt and Prince, and has toured Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean. He has choreographed for stage and film and has taught locally, nationally, and abroad. Morris was the choreographer and Artistic Director of the Dancers and Drummers of Langa known for the critically acclaimed dance fables Langa and Naga. He received numerous grants from the Jerome Foundation, McKnight Foundation, MRAC, MN Dance Alliance and various other funders to support his artistic vision. In 2012, Morris received the Sage Award and the Outstanding Dance Educator of MN.

An internationally recognized hip-hop dancer, choreographer, and teacher, Amirah Sackett explores and embodies her Muslim American identity through combining hip-hop movement and Islamic themes. She reached viral video fame after being featured on POPSUGAR Celebrity, The Huffington Post, AJ+, and Upworthy. Amirah was named one of "17 Muslim American Women Who Made America Great in 2016" by The Huffington Post. Sackett was honored to be a TED speaker, guest lecturer and teacher at Harvard University, and a cultural diplomat with the U.S. State Department in Bangladesh, Malaysia, Kuwait, and Romania. She had the honor to represent the U.S.A. as a cultural performer, in United Arab Emirates, at the Expo 2020 Dubai, the S.W.A.N.A.'s region’s first World's Fair. Based in Chicago, Amirah continues to teach the next generation and encourage emerging artists to use hip-hop culture as a way to uplift, inspire, and create social change

Internationally recognized Enock Kalubi Kadima, best known as Brotha.E, is a multi-disciplinary artist from Congo, Kinshasa/Brazzaville. From Battles, shows, music videos, commercials, & theater His dance movement and artistry reflects and highlights the richness of Congolese, African, Black culture that he intends to shift the paradigm on, including how the masses in his generation perceive African Art. Also known for globally spreading Congolese, African, Black art & culture through the studies and practice of multiple arts such as Ndombolo, Hip Hop, House, Popping.. just to name a few. He constantly pays homage to the legacy of those that came before him, which he believes is necessary to accentuate the voices of his people.

Daisy is an American independent recording artist, producer, dancer, and performer born and raised in Los Angeles. Her journey began at just seven years old when her stepfather recognized her natural talent after she flawlessly recited his raps. From that moment, he mentored her, helping shape a voice that would become a force in music and dance. A true triple threat, Daisy has made her mark in music, TV, and film. She starred in RIZE,directed by David LaChapelle, and appeared in Be Cool, School Gyrls, and Thirteen. She’s performed at the BET Awards with Ciara, appeared in Chris Brown’s iconic Run It and Yovideos, and worked with Nickelodeon on The Giggle Club/Star Camp alongside NickCannon and Quincy Jones Sr. Honored by the City of Los Angeles for her contributions tounderprivileged youth, Daisy continues to use her art for impact. As a pioneer of Buck Music—the rawest sub-genre of hip-hop—she pushes a movementdesigned to Inform, Transform, & Inspire.

Larry Combs aka RUIN has been Krumping nonstop from the age of 12. Graduate of Eisenhower High School, RUIN began his career in Inland Empire County. Today he teaches the foundations of Krump to elementary and middle school students. A champion competitor, RUIN travels, teaches workshops and judges coast to coast including France, Germany, Russia, New Zealand, Ireland, London, Switzerland, China and Japan.
